OK, fine... so, I'm not a literal farmer. I did once try to grow some watermelons, but that didn't work out so well. So what's with the blog/eNewsletter name? "A Simple Farmer" is a reference to Jesus' words in Matthew 9:37-38, "... the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." I'm just a worker out in God's harvest field - a simple farmer. When I was 5-years-old my parents sat me down and said that our family would be moving to Europe to be a part of reaching the unreached in the Soviet Union. Shortly thereafter, serious health issues and tragedy struck, derailing plans, and the door of opportunity was closed. As I grew up we frequently housed missionaries passing through town, and I heard firsthand accounts of evangelism around the world. As I realized that billions of people around the world had never even heard the Gospel message, God grew a passion in my heart to go and tell them. At the age of 12, I felt God impress on me that someday He was going to send me overseas as a full-time missionary. Fast forward a number of years, a number of short-term missions trips taking me to 10 different countries on 4 different continents, and God is now sending me as a full-time missionary to Russia - a dream He planted in my heart so long ago. Two decades after the iron curtain has fallen, there are still more than 12,500,000 Russians who are unreached by the Gospel. I feel so privileged and excited that God has invited me to be a part of reaching them for Christ. The time has finally come. I'm currently looking for churches and individuals who will partner with me in prayer and financial support. Let's reach Russia together! A simple farmer,
